Basically, what has been happening is there was a large(3 months or so) time skip from the day that Nymeria got tortured to what is happening now.
I want to have Nymeria basically deceiving her husband, Micheal, to see her brother, because she know he's going to die since no one likes her brother ever since he sold his sister off to the Northern King.
My inspiration is the music playlist that I made for writing this book, which contains a few songs my Jaymes Young, which has been always a great inspiration.
Excerpt;
“How’s Micheal?” Magenta questioned, not seeing him around.
“He’s in the chamber of conference, talking to his war generals about his plans with the South,” I sounded a bit upset about it, but Magenta ignored the signs of how nervous I was about it and put up the bows and arrows that we were practicing with.
“Next, I should teach you how to shot on a moving horse,” Magenta chuckled and looked around. “People will fear you, if you can master that,” she purred in my ear.
“Later, Magenta,” I looked up at her, but that wasn’t enough to make her go away. I really did not want to see her, or any of the Kale family, even Micheal, but Magenta was not getting the idea to go away.
“But, come on, Nymeria,” she grinned, pulling on my arm, but I jerked away shaking, shaking my head.
“No,” I sighed, stepping backwards, just in case she tried reaching for my arm again. “I’m tired anyway,” that was a lie, but I didn’t care. I just turned away and walked back up to the castle, where Kaylyn, the mother, grabbed my attention, bringing me straight to the Chamber of Conference. The place that I had been avoiding all day. I rolled my eyes.
“Ah, here is my lovely wife. Say hello to Nymeria, everyone,” Micheal spoke loudly before turning towards me.
I wanted to hide within my fur-lined cloak, but that was no possible. I just walked over to Micheal, giving an awkward wave to everyone that was sitting around the table.
“Come, my darling. We are talking about how we are going to scale the wall and take the South,” he chuckled.
I took a seat next to him, on his right, with a quiet sigh. I really did not want to be here, but at this point, I had no choice. I needed to get used to this anyway.
“So, where were we? Oh! Getting past the great wall that divides this country,” Micheal mumbled on, thinking to him before I decided to perk up.
“Micheal, you know that wall is nearly impossible to get through, without signature of the King of that side. Remember, Jamie couldn’t get through with a written document of your knowledge that we were coming through?” I knew a few things about war and strategy.
“That is true. What about you? You’re a true Southern, you can get us through, right? Micheal asked.
“I guess, I could, but I don’t know if that’ll work since I no longer wear their symbol. I wear a Wolf, not a Bear,” I looked up at him, shrugging a bit.
“It’ll probably work, but if not, prepare for a fight,” Micheal added at the end.
Someone entered the room, coming directly to me, but Micheal did not seem to like that. He ripped the piece of parchment out of the messenger’s hand and growled.
“What is it, Micheal?” I asked, curiously before the paper was shoved at me.
“This concerns your brother,” he rolled his eyes.
I looked over it, carefully reading over every word before I stood up. I might have hated my brother, but this letter told me stories of how the city of Ocean Villa has turned against him and he may be soon assassinated and he needed his sister.
“Where are you going?” Micheal grabbed my arm and we stared into one another’s eyes.
“My brother needs my help,” I knew Micheal wouldn’t let me go.
He forced me back into my seat, shaking his head and muttering something underneath his breath.
My brother could hold out for a while till I can get a chance to slip away. I, of course, am not leaving without Micheal knowing. I’ll probably be going to war with him, fighting along side my wolfish husband.
“Thank the holy gods that Magenta has been teaching you to fight,” Micheal muttered before moving a few of the wolf pieces towards the wall, the biggest piece being Micheal and his army, but the other armies, from the North, were behind him. Micheal always fought on the front line.
“I believe, if I do ride with my husband, we would be able to get through. My brother is expecting me,” I looked up at Micheal, holding the paper up to him. It was a deceitful way to help my husband, just to see my brother, but it would have to work for now, till I can feel comfortable to tell him.

You have really gotten deep inside the head of your character. You have a great voice. I thought I was going to get bogged down in the political machinations, but I didn't. Good job.
ReplyDelete- Now I just wish other people could read and comment upon what you're doing here! 11/12
I'm sorry, I was under the impression I commented, but I guess blogspot hates me.
ReplyDeleteJaymes Young is a beautiful artist and I like his song Moondust. Although, I don't really see the connection between his music and this piece, but ya know. Hahaha
I think your dialogue is your strong suit here, and you have crafted really relatable characters. I like how even though this is kind of like Game of Thrones, you wrote it in a really modern way.
First, can I say how amazing your blog looks? It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your dialogue. It flows really easily between your characters and I can follow along really well. I would love to read this when it's done! :)
